At Millwoods Christian School we offer a full range of academic courses, following the Alberta Program of Studies. An overview of the program of studies can be accessed online at www.education.gov.ab.ca

Our teachers work in collaborative teams to review required learning outcomes, build common assessments and select appropriate instructional practices to meet the needs of all learners. We regularly review data to see how well students are learning and put intervention plans in place as required. We are committed to working together so that all students learn.

At MCS we also want our students to have the opportunity to learn to know God and grow in their faith. As a Christian community of learners our goal is to challenge students to excel in character and leadership in order to serve their community in the name of Jesus Christ.

MCS provides spiritual training through daily teaching and application of the Bible. Each student is given opportunity to experience a relationship with God through prayer and praise. Millwoods Christian School offers education from an evangelical Christian perspective, based upon the belief that all require redemption through Jesus Christ, and that everyone who professes Christ as Saviour is to live according to principles found in the Bible.

    Our Christian Education Program Includes

    • morning prayer and scripture
    • weekly Bible classes
    • monthly scripture memory assignments
    • kindergarten to grade twelve service learning projects
    • weekly chapel services
    • spiritual focus days including fall retreats
    • integration of Biblical truth in all courses

Preparing Minds for Leadership, Hearts for Service

Welcome to Millwoods Christian School! As an alternative program with Edmonton Public Schools, Millwoods Christian offers education from a Christian perspective to students from kindergarten to grade twelve. We provide a fully integrated faith-based program for families who want an education that challenges students to grow in Christian character and faith.

At MCS, students are encouraged and supported to do their best, whether it be in academics, athletics, arts, or our Christian program. Our focus on learning provides students in all grades and subject areas with the tools they need to succeed. We approach all areas of education, whether core curriculum, complementary courses, or co-curricular activities from an evangelical Christian perspective and are committed to excellence in all we do.

Take a moment to browse through our site to see the many ways that Millwoods Christian works to develop the whole child.  Each component of our K-12 program assists us in achieving our goal of developing students who will be purposeful leaders in their community and citizens who will effectively impact their world.

Principal's Message

Welcome to Millwoods Christian School! We are pleased you chose to visit our website to find out a little more about who we are. Please tour this site to acquaint yourself with our diversity.
We believe our place in God’s world is one of special privilege and responsibility. Made in God’s image, we human beings are called to responsible stewardship: loving others and ourselves, and developing and preserving the resources of creation.  It is within this broad framework of understanding ourselves in relationship to God, to others and His creative genius that we are able to take our place in society as responsible citizens, with academic and spiritual integrity.
We are proud to be associated with Edmonton Public Schools. We are considered an Alternative program and offer education from a Christian perspective.  Edmonton Public Schools is committed to choice in education and because of this we are able to offer this type of schooling for parents who desire a fully integrated Christian program.
We are also committed to excellence in all we do. We believe in rigor in academics and work collaboratively to ensure the highest level of educational excellence for all students. We follow the Alberta Education Curriculum and simultaneously weave Christian principals throughout all of our courses. We offer daily devotions for students and have chapel for each division once per week. We also are able to teach from Locally Developed Christian courses approved by Alberta Education for our secondary students.
Our District focus hinge upon the four pillars of Equity, Accountability, Collaboration and Integrity. It is our desire to pragmatically represent these in all we do as a school community.
Be blessed,
Allan D. Lowrie
