Drama and Musical Theatre

ELEMENTARY

Drama - Our Christmas Concerts are a highlight of the year.  Each division performs a musical.  In Divison 1 (K-3), the grade 3's having the opportunity to act for the first time and in Division 2 (4-6) the grade 6's take on the challenge with a longer and more complex story.  

JUNIOR HIGH

Drama - Grades 7-9 students have the opportunity to choose drama as an option.  Students in learn story telling skills, technical theatre basics and perform for their classmates.  Grade 8's create "Lunchbox Theatre" for our elementary students and the Grade 9's work on their first public performance of a one act play.  

Students in grade 9 drama end their semester with a public performance.

SENIOR HIGH 

Musical Theatre 15, 25 and 35 (5 credits) - Musical Theatre provides students an opportunity to obtain and refine musical theatre skills including acting, singing and dancing. Students will also build skills in stagecraft. Students meet the objectives of the course while working on class and public performances.  

Technical Theatre 15, 25 and 35 (5 credits) - Technical Theatre provides students with the opportunity to obtain and refine skills in relation to sound, lights, management and stagecraft. Students may have the opportunity to meet these objectives while working on a public performance.
