Drama and Musical Theatre

ELEMENTARY

Drama - Grades 4-6 students may audition for the Drama Club and be a part of the spring drama production/musical.

Grade 6 students may audition for the drama portion of our school Christmas concert.

 

JUNIOR HIGH

Drama - Grades 7-9 students have the opportunity to choose drama as an option.

Students in grade 9 drama end their semester with a public performance.

  

SENIOR HIGH 

Choral Music 10, 20 and 30 (3 or 5 credits) - These courses provide students with foundational vocal skills in a choral setting. Objectives include proper vocal heath and use, preparation of songs in a variety of genres and music theory. Students have the opportunity to perform in public settings.

Dance 15, 25 and 35 (3 credits) - Dance courses provide students with the opportunity to use their creativity and talents while they learn technique, choreography and performance skills.

Drama 10, 20 and 30 (3 or 5 credits) - These courses provide students with the foundational skills of the drama curriculum including areas of movement, speech, improvisation, acting, theatre studies and technical theatre. Students meet numerous objectives while working on class and public performances.

Musical Theatre 15, 25 and 35 (5 credits) - Musical Theatre provides students an opportunity to obtain and refine musical theatre skills including acting, singing and dancing. Students will also build skills in stagecraft. Students meet the objectives of the course while working on class and public performances.

Technical Theatre 15, 25 and 35 (5 credits) - Technical Theatre provides students with the opportunity to obtain and refine skills in relation to sound, lights, management and stagecraft. Students may have the opportunity to meet these objectives while working on a public performance.
